Central government agencies and State-funded corporations in Hong Kong were given a pat on the back by Vice-Premier Li Keqiang for what he called their “highly fruitful” work which greatly conforms to the “One Country, Two Systems” principle.

The vice-premier gave the commendation in a talk to representatives of the agencies and corporations at the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong (LOCPG) on Thursday.
“The work you are engaged in is linked directly to the great cause of ‘One Country, Two Systems’,” he said.

The fundamental principle underlying the latest economic policies to benefit Hong Kong is that the central government will firmly support the SAR’s development and its irreplaceable role in the nation’s economic reform and opening-up, in order to usher in a new era of economic, commercial and financial cooperation by both sides.

“This serves well for both Hong Kong and the country,” Li said.

Central government agencies in Hong Kong, through their conscientious and meticulous work, have contributed immensely to implementing the “One Country, Two Systems” concept and in supporting the chief executive and SAR government in their administration according to law, the vice-premier added.

LOCPG Director Peng Qinghua pledged that agencies and corporations in Hong Kong will endeavour to make fresh contributions to make the “One Country, Two Systems” principle a successful practice.
